Term Definition
Machine Weft

Hair that is processed on a track at the roots. This can be attached through sewing, micro-links technique, or by applying clips. BRIJON recommends the micro-links technique as an effective installation technique that is safe for the customer’s own hair. BRIJON triple stitches its wefts so that the hair is stronger and prevents shedding. The width of the weft depends on the length of the hair, as the weight is always 100 grams. So, the shorter the weft, the wider it is and the longer the length of the weft, the shorter the width. On average, the wefts have a width of 4.5 – 5 feet (or 1.5 meters).

Microlink Technique

This application technique is used to connect hair extensions to the customer’s own hair through attaching and clamping down on rings. Using a Pulling Needle, the hair extension and the customer’s own hair is threaded through a ring and then locked secure using pliers. This technique is used with BRIJON’s i-Tips and Machine Wefts. BRIJON offers a Toolkit which includes some of the key tools required to do the application.

Microrings

These rings are used as part of the microlinks application. Hair extensions and the customer’s hair are inserted into the rings, and clamped down to hold the hair extension in place. These rings are smaller than the other rings (Copper Rings and Silicon Rings) which customers may prefer. BRIJON offers three different sizes and four different colors (black, brown, beige and blonde) for its microrings.
